RFID Based Automatic Door Control System Abstract

ABSTRACT

Security is a prime concern in our day-to-day life. The rapid development of electronics provides secured environment to the human. More and more devices are coming every day to protect the people’s   house or office. Present project RF ID based security system is also one of them.  You might be familiar with RFID systems as seen in contact less payment systems, product tracking and inventory control, etc. Basically, an RFID system consists of three components: an antenna or coil, a transceiver (with decoder) and a transponder (RF tag) electronically programmed with unique information.

The Main concept behind this project"Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Based Access Control System"is to allow only authorized persons to access a restricted area. TO allow access, the authorized person’s RF ID card has to be shown in front of the RFID reader and then the access is allowed or denied to the respective person/RFID card. The system is based on micro controller and comprises an RFID module, an LCD module for displaying the status and a relay for opening the door.

The authorized persons are provided with unique tags, using which they can access the restricted area. When an authorized person’s tag enters in the RF field generated by the RFID reader, energy is transmitted to the tag and retrieves data from the tag. Then the RFID reader communicates to the microcontroller for further processing. Thus on identifying the authorized person relay energizes to open the door for the person. Simultaneously, the LCD shows “access granted” message and buzzer is on .If the person is unauthorized, then the LCD shows “access denied” and the door doesn’t open.
